Cobalt Acquires System Integrations and Galaxy Integrated Technologies

New York, NY (August 21, 2025) – Cobalt Service Partners today announced that it has acquired System Integrations  and Galaxy Integrated Technologies (“Galaxy”). These acquisitions mark Cobalt’s 15th & 16th since launching in December of 2023, and its 4th and 5th of 2025.

System Integrations, based in Lebanon, TN, is a family-founded technology company that specializes in security solutions and other low voltage and communications systems. Founded in 1992 by brothers Derrick and Jeff Ledford and their father, Bruce, System Integrations has grown steadily over three decades while maintaining a culture rooted in service, adaptability, and family values.

“We didn’t have all the answers, but we had a passion for service and a belief that technology could truly make a difference,” said Derrick Ledford. “At the heart of it all, we’re still that same family business—just a little bigger, a little wiser, and even more committed to the people we serve.”

Galaxy, based in Waltham, MA, is a leading provider of security and low voltage solutions, known for its craftsmanship, speed, and attention to detail. Galaxy was founded in the early 1980s by Michael McDade, who began the business by installing security and phone systems. Over time, he built a team of professionals who shared his pride in clean, efficient installs and his “whatever it takes” work ethic.

“Back then, it was just me and a few apprentice helpers, working long hours and learning as we went,” said McDade. “The greatest reward has been seeing team members embrace the ‘whatever it takes’ mindset and grow into roles they never imagined for themselves.”

Both companies chose to partner with Cobalt to support their next chapter of growth while preserving their legacy and culture. “Cobalt’s track record and values mirror the culture we have worked hard to create,” said McDade. “This partnership ensures that our customers will continue to receive the highest level of service while giving our team the resources and platform to achieve even greater impact in the years ahead.”

“What stood out about Cobalt wasn’t just their ability to support growth, but how they approached it,” said Jeff Ledford. “They came alongside us, focusing on the areas where we needed help the most, without disrupting what we do best.”

“Cobalt is proud to partner with founders like Michael and the Ledfords, who have built enduring businesses through grit, integrity, and a deep commitment to their teams and customers,” said Anthony Gonzalez, Co-CEO of Cobalt. “We’re excited to help them scale their impact while honoring the legacy they’ve built.”

Coinciding with the transaction, Michael McDade will transition out of the day-to-day operations of the business at Galaxy and John Gulezian, formerly Executive Vice President, will be serving as CEO.  Derrick and Jeff Ledford will remain at System Integrations as VP of Sales and VP of Finance & Administration, respectively, as Cobalt hires a CEO.
